Our Building Process

CONSULTATION

A new home is one of the biggest and most important purchases you will make in your lifetime. With over 17 years' experience in building homes in Port Ludlow and the surrounding areas, Home Associates Builders, Inc. can handle every step of the process, from the initial consultation to the final Certificate of Occupancy and beyond. There is no charge or obligation for the initial consultation. We will review and analyze your custom design needs in terms of budget and construction costs.

DESIGN REVIEW

The house "footprint" should be established on a site plan. The site plan should have as much information as required by the building department, utility location, septic details, if applicable. When the design phase is completed, the construction drawings can be completed. Specifications should also be provided, these should include materials, appliance and fixture model numbers, colors and specific methods if required. As your General Contractor, we will be there to monitor the progress for you at every phase.

ESTIMATE

Historical data can be used to build a "rough" estimate. This information is not accurate or complete for bidding purposes. Once we have your completed designs, we will then be able to build an accurate cost for budget purposes. There is a fee associated with this estimate. Once our bid is accepted, this fee is applied toward the contract price. Contact us for more information on building the estimate.

CONTRACT

The construction contract is designed to protect both the owner and the builder. All of the details, including payment schedules and time frames, need to be identified. Our contract is completely transparent, direct costs are identified, as well as builder overhead and profit. We provide a warranty policy written by Residential Warranty Corporation.

If you elect to have a Built Green Home, we will provide a list of the requirements for your home to be certified and a certificate will be issued by the HBA of Kitsap County upon final occupancy.
